DUTIES: Produce electrical layout drawings for lighting, containment, fire alarm, general services, security, life safety and mechanical power. Develop contract drawings associated with Electrical Distribution Systems. Produce Power Calculations using various software’s and spreadsheets. Lead Site Investigations with Utility Companies and Contractors for Power delivery. Producing Photometric Lighting Calculations. Create and maintain electrical specifications and standards for projects. Collaborate with other engineers and professionals to ensure effective and efficient package & project delivery. Provide technical support and guidance to the project team and clients. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in all designs and developments. Manage and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Telecommuting allowed with daily commutable distance to Jacobs New Rochelle NY field office for Penn Access.TRAVEL: 15% Travel required to multiple MTA rail/transit sites in Bronx and Queens.REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and three years of employment experience as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related occupation.SPECIFIC SKILLS: Design full low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems. Design lighting systems including associated control systems. Prepare load analysis for each stage of design. Prepare Short circuit, coordination and Arc Flash Analysis. Prepare Photometric Calculations. Prepare detailed project electrical systems drawings. Prepare basis of design report for the project. Select and prepare specifications for electrical equipment. Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and with project architects. Expertise with NEC, NFPA 72, NFPA101 and Building Codes. Expertise with the following software. REVIT 3D Electrical System Modeling. Open Roads Open Building Modeling. SKM Power Tools Modeling. Agi32 Modeling. AUTOCAD. Microstation.
