American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payments provider for businesses and corporations of all sizes, with small business being the largest customer segment and a continued area of investment and focus. The Small Business Marketing (SBM) Team is responsible for acquisition and customer engagement marketing for all Small Business Charge, Proprietary Lending and Co-Brand cards plus our banking solutions across Business Checking and Business Line of Credit.
Within SBM, the Blueprint Customer Marketing team focuses on driving product activation, engagement, and retention for Business Checking and Business Line of Credit, as well as overall small business customer awareness and adoption of the Business Blueprint digital platform.
The Director, Small Business Marketing Automation & Enablement will lead automation, data, process, and operations to enable Small Business Marketing communications, with a primary focus on Business Line of Credit, Business Checking, and Business Blueprint customer emails. For Business Line of Credit and Business Checking, the focus will be on enabling campaigns and journeys to establish a fully scaled & optimized moment-based lifecycle marketing program that maximizes the use of real-time data attributes. For Business Blueprint, we will be partnering with other marketing teams across SBM to enable triggered communications that introduce and drive usage of the new digital platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and deliver against a marketing capabilities roadmap in partnership with Product Development and tech teams
Partner with Marketing teams to strengthen personalization and real-time targeting capabilities by continuouslyoptimizingour customer data attribute set
Support Beyond-the-Card (BTC) and Blueprint customer marketing efforts by enabling and deploying broadscale and targeted email communications, including lifecycle journeys, e-newsletter & seasonal/thematic campaigns, feature launch announcements, triggers, and API-drivenservicing comms
Oversee Beyond-the-card and Blueprint servicing emails that deploy out of Salesforce Marketing Cloud to ensure channel consistency and adhere to channel standards
Oversee intake & calendar planning process for BTC & Blueprint customer emails, constantly refining processes to maintain the highest standard of operational rigor and efficiency
Own BTC & Blueprint email PRSAs, operational quality, email channel health, and efficiency metrics
Assess opportunities to provide capabilities expertise on best practice use of enterprise email technology (e.g., data as content, flash, etc.) that support our core card business
Manage a team of marketing automation specialists and technical email developers

Minimum Qualifications
5-10 years of experience in Marketingor Product Development
Deep expertisein the email channel
Strong understanding of targeting and personalization data architecture and flows
Experience leading and developingteams
Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Journey Builder (or trigger-based email capabilities within another ESP)
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience working within an ESP to create audiences and automations using data attributes
Direct experience working with marketers on personalized data as content
Experience developing new martechcapabilities with technical teams
Qualifications
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
