JPMorgan Chase Director of Software Engineering - Partner Channel in New York, New York

As a Director of Software Engineering on the Partner Channel team within Consumer and Community Banking Connected Commerce line of business, you will be at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution that drives value for our external partners. You will lead technology strategy, execution, and the roll out of key platform offerings to Chase product teams. These platform offerings will enable a delightful end-to-end partner integration experience with Chase. You will help identify opportunities while expanding our customer value proposition and your experience understanding product roadmaps and business goals will be critical. You will provide design thinking and thought leadership and continuously secure buy-in from Chief Technology Officers, Heads of Technology and Heads of Architecture across the organization. As a lead, you'll ensure that solutions are elegant, resilient, easy to integrate with and of the highest standards. You will play an integral role in making sure that solutions are developed in accordance with firm-wide risk & architecture guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop technology strategy & execute on it to drive value for Chase strategic partners.

  • Oversee decisions that influence the team's operations, budget, and roadmap.

  • Work with the Head of Engineering / Chief Technology Officer of Partner Channel to advance overall platform strategy.

  • Regularly influencing senior technologists, CTOs, Heads of Technology and Heads of Architecture and ultimately securing relevant buy-ins across the organization.

  • Drive adoption of new platform offerings across the product/technology organization

  • Partner and collaborate with product and business groups to plan & manage dependencies, timelines, and priorities to ensure successful delivery.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.

  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages in particular, the Java/J2EE stack

  • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud).

  • Experience building SaaS platforms, tools & services for engineers.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations.

  • Ability to deconstruct & communicate complex or abstract technology concepts in a clear way to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working with product teams to ensure understanding and alignment on product vision and technical implementation.

  • Advanced knowledge of architecture & application design processes.

  • Bias for action; ability to take ownership and think long-term.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Strong coding fundamentals - Algorithms & Data Structures

  • Track record of effective risk and dependency management

  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment.

  • Passion for automating & excelling at identifying gaps in processes.
