SLSCO LTD Design Build Construction Program Manager in New York, New York

SLSCO, LP is seeking a New York City-based Design/Build Construction Program Manager. The Design/Build Program Manager will be an experienced and detail-oriented individual who will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex and unique projects within an overall D/B Program. This individual will report directly to Program/Project Executives and work on a daily basis in tandem with Construction Management personnel. The role requires a strategic thinker with robust D/B experience, financial acumen, leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing large projects, ideally in the corrections, civic, and/or specialized institutional sectors. This individual will lead and manage a team of D/B professionals internally and work with clients, stakeholders, and relevant outside parties to ensure completion and delivery within scope, on schedule, and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to ensure effective operations for D/B construction assignments.
  • Work directly with program/project executives and the construction management team to achieve comprehensive program/project execution, compliance, and completion.
  • Lead D/B team members and specific division lines in the achievement of specific and relevant tasks, goals, and objectives.
  • Define specific D/B program/project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with client, stakeholders, and D/B team.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for execution in collaboration with D/B team to include scope, schedules, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and conduit for D/B team and stakeholders/relevant parties in concert with program/project executives and the construction management team.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and presentations, ensuring clear communication and alignment on program/project goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with construction management team, architects, engineers, and administration staff to ensure alignment with program/project objectives.
  • Monitor and manage project risks and issues, escalating as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Work with financial controller to ensure financial accountability by monitoring project performance, including budget tracking, cost control, forecasting, payables, receivables, and invoicing.
  • Monitoring the execution of all program/project phases, ensuring adherence to plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Communicate goals, status, risks, and impact of the D/B team's work to relevant stakeholders and to the larger organization.
  • Prepare and present regular operational, administrative, and financial reports to program/project executives.
  • Manage and maintain comprehensive documentation, including contracts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Requires flexibility for work from multiple office locations, as well as evening and weekend work.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Eight (8) years of responsible experience in project and program management, execution, and implementation.
  • Experience with Design/Build projects, with concentration in civic, correctional, and/or specialized institutional projects.
  • Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • City, State, or Federal experience desired.
  • SharePoint administration and file management experience.
  • PMP or similar certification and active DBIA involvement highly desired.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, financial regulations, M/WBE compliance, and document control practices.
  • Proficiency in project management, financial management software, and document control tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Procore).
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
