The Mount Sinai Health System Dermatopathology - Physician - Manhattan, NY in New York, New York

The Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, one of the leading and most highly rated departments in the US, with the largest training program in the country, is seeking a full time experienced, board certified academic dermatopathologists at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Dermatology, with at least 2 years of dermatopathology experience, for an excellent career opportunity.

We are in the process of transitioning dermatopathology to be fully within dermatology, allowing for a tremendous growth opportunity with a great career development path for the right candidate. The ideal candidate must have completed a residency in dermatology (or pathology) and be board eligible or board certified in dermatopathology. Responsibilities will include teaching and mentoring medical students, dermatology and pathology residents and dermatopathology fellows. The candidate will be expected to be involved in and/or supportive of research activities and should have a strong track record of academic excellence and publications. Current NIH or foundation research and a track record of research funding is preferable. Because we are looking to grow our program, this position will allow the suitable candidate a great opportunity for academic growth and development. The successful candidate will join our 27 faculty members, in a highly supportive environment that will foster their academic development. This is a unique opportunity given that our department is a worldwide leader in clinical and translational research. The qualified candidate is expected to provide dermatopathology services for a large volume practice (with opportunity for medical dermatology as well) and to develop clinical, translational and/or basic research. The candidate is also expected to participate in mentorship and resident education.

  • Strong academic record of publications and research.

  • Track record of productivity in dermatopathology and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in dermatopathology and dermatology/pathology

  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of New York

  • Track record of academic productivity, research and extensive publications

  • Research funding and expertise in molecular/artificial intelligence is a plus

  • Compensation range from 350K to 500K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
