Data Engineering Manager needed by Warby Parker Inc. in New York, NY [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to lead and grow a team of Data Engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, sponsoring, giving feedback, and offering hands-on career development. Work closely with Product Management to deliver high-performing integrations, data models, and business intelligence tools that help analysts across the company answer critical questions. Ensure timely delivery of reporting integration and data modeling work that addresses business needs and meets high standards of quality. Shape the Data Engineering function as a practice within Warby Parker, acting as a strategic partner. Ensure the team is informed, engaged, and excited about their work. Support the Data Engineers that make up the team and help them become successful. Help engineers grow in their career paths, mentor them as they create great integrations and data models and help them stay engaged in their work at Warby Parker. Advocate for excellent software development practices and instill these behaviors in a team and peers. Cultivate a collaborative culture, ensure quality, and work with a team on strategy and execution. Utilize cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure). Utilize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-relational databases (Dynamo) and warehouses. Utilize cloud environments. Use the programming languages Python and SQL. Use the visualization tool Looker. Use Kubernetes and Docker to manage containerization of workloads and services. Employ ETL (ExtractTransform - Load) and data modelling. Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform). Utilize Apache software (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Storm). Supervises four (4) employees, including: one (1) Data Engineer II, one (1) Senior Data Engineer, and two (2) Senior Data Engineer II.. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Engineering and seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure). Must also have two (2) years of experience utilizing relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-relational databases (Dynamo) and warehouses; two (2) years of experience utilizing cloud environments; two (2) years of experience using the programming languages Python and SQL; two (2) years of experience using the visualization tool Looker; two (2) years of experience using Kubernetes and Docker to manage containerization of workloads and services; two (2) years of experience employing ETL (Extract- Transform - Load) and data modelling; two (2) years of experience utilizing infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform); and two (2) years of experience utilizing Apache software (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Storm).The salary range for this position is $262,621- $262,621 yearly.To apply, please email resume to Lisa Fazzolari, Sr. Director, People, at HR@WarbyParker.com and reference Job Number: 7708048.
