Role Overview:

The major responsibilities for this position include acting as the Product Compliance Team Lead on all aspects of team's responsibilities related to New Business Forms, including application and related forms development, regulatory filing, systems implementation and on-going compliance of these forms. The role supports and collaborates closely with the Retail Life, Long-Term Care insurance and Individual Disability Income insurance products. This role works directly with the Product Development teams and Purchase Experience Value Stream teams to support new business initiatives and ongoing compliance matters.

What You'll Do:

In this position, the individual will collaborate with representatives from the Product areas (Life, Long-Term Care Insurance, Individual Disability Income Insurance), Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, Purchase Experience teams and various Technology teams within the Company. The major responsibilities for this position include representing the Product Compliance Team on all applicable new business meetings, preparation of applications, supplements, disclosures and other required forms for filing with regulatory bodies and state insurance departments, as well as overall continued compliance of the new business forms. The individual will also manage a team to prepare electronic regulatory filings through the SERFF electronic filing platform, monitor and track all correspondence and respond to regulator correspondence. This individual and their team will prepare and provide the necessary forms to various new business workstreams throughout the company for implementation, as well as work with outside vendors for typesetting, printing, uploading and storage of forms, as needed. The individual will be responsible for standardizing the new business form compliance process across products supported, as well as creating and maintaining policy and procedures for the team.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience

  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe. Must have strong analytical skills, demonstrate excellent research skills, ability to multi-task and ability to work effectively on a team.

  • Familiarity with SERFF filing system preferred. Experience working with state regulators preferred.

  • Must have 5+ years prior experience in similar product insurance compliance.

  • Must have experience working with cross functional teams to implement/launch projects.

  • Must have strong analytical skills and superior judgment in assessing and addressing any compliance risks in the drafting, filing and implementation of new business forms.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple work items and projects, manage a team, as well as collaborate with others and follow through to completion.

  • Ability to collaborate with others and establish working relationships, think and act analytically and strategically, and influence others when required to effectively solve complex issues related to compliance.

  • Ability to make decisions that have cross-function impact in regard to compliance issues after collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication based on the intended audience. Communication skills should extend to influencing skills to negotiate with regulators on form filings.
