JPMorgan Chase Corporate Development, Digital Partnerships - Associate in New York, New York

Join the Corporate Development team at Chase which is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships across Chase's consumer lines of business - Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These partnerships are critical to Chase's ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to develop these partnerships which require careful strategic consideration as well as a relentless focus on execution, and we are looking for smart, dynamic people who can deliver at Chase in the Digital Partnerships team.

Digital Partnerships team - The Digital Partnerships team is responsible for digital payments and lending partnerships for Chase's consumer businesses. The team has three primary functions: 1) determine the partnership strategies for large tech platforms and fintechs, 2) evaluate, negotiate and execute payments and lending partnerships, and 3) manage ongoing relationships with large tech platforms externally and firmwide.

As an Associate in the Digital Partnerships team, you will be a key member of a high performance team, working across both our large tech and fintech partnerships for the bank, with a focus on payments and lending. You should be comfortable working on a strategic analysis as you are supporting a commercial deal, and understand how to lead through influence across a large, multifaceted organization, and can support deal execution and negotiations. You will play a key role in helping the team to support Chase's senior most executive leaders to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what partnerships will deliver value for Chase's customers. You have outstanding analytic skills, a good eye for attention to detail and regularly produces flawless work, a passion for consumer financial services, and can stay organized across multiple initiatives, and an ability to take initiative with minimal guidance and oversight.

You as the Associate will play a key role in helping the Digital Partnerships team to support Chase's senior most executive leaders to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what partnerships will deliver value for Chase's customers. You as the ideal candidates have outstanding analytic skills, a good eye for attention to detail and regularly produces flawless work, a passion for consumer financial services, and can stay organized across multiple initiatives, and an ability to take initiative with minimal guidance and oversight.

Job responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic payments and lending partnerships with large tech platforms and fintech players

  • Collaboratively develop our partnership strategy with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, analysis of the competitive landscape, leading diligence, and making recommendations

  • Develop and help deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration

  • Work with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnerships

  • Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners

  • Ensure all deals are executed in accordance with policies, controls and Corporate Development procedures

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 1+ years industry experience, across digital, banking, financial services and/or payments; candidate must have at least 1 year work experience

  • BS degree or equivalent experience required

  • High degree of curiosity and interest in fintech and large tech innovation in financial services

  • Thrives as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross functional environment

  • Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management ability

  • Able to build relationships inside and outside the company

  • Fast learner who is able to work seamlessly across a large cross-functional organization

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Management consulting, investment banking, or PE/VC experience a plus
