Position Summary
Under the joint direction of the Department Chair and the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Clinical Coordinator II - Registered Nurse will assist physicians with outpatient-related duties, including taking patients' histories, completing directed physical exams, performing appropriate urodynamic studies, biofeedback, laboratory, and other studies, and tailoring individualized and evidenced-based treatment plans. Perform other duties as assigned and provide coverage as needed. Integrates the principles of preventive medicine and patient education into all aspects of clinical care.
Responsibilities
- Manage supervised care of patients within the Urology practice.
- Effectively and efficiently perform laboratory procedure clinics, including urodynamics and biofeedback as necessary, video urodynamics, and uroflows with/out EMG.
- Independently perform study, such that attending physicians can interpret the clinical results without subjecting patients to further testing. Day of the study must encompass 7 (seven) hours of clinical activity. The studies are time defined as follows: Urodynamic Video Studies without fluoroscopy 1.5 hours; Video Urodynamic Studies with fluoroscopy 1.5 hours; Biofeedback 1.5 hours; Uroflow without EMG with or without ultrasound post-void residual 1 hour; Uroflow with EMG with or without ultrasound post-void residual 1 hour; Intermittent Catheterization Teaching 1 hour.
- Assist physicians with ambulatory procedures and treatments.
- Review laboratory results and other clinical information pertinent to patient health, order appropriate tests and other ancillary services as needed, and develop patient care plans.
- Teach patients and their families about disease processes, diagnostic testing, self-catheterization, and post-operative care.
- Complete patient history and disability forms and FMLA paperwork.
- Phone-in prescriptions and manage prior authorizations for medications that are indicated.
- Administer medications and Injections under the supervision of physicians or nurse practitioners.
- Supports physicians and nurse practitioners with clinical trials and other research activities.
- Serve as a member of the clinical coverage team for all clinical practices.
- Function within standards of practice established by the Division of Nursing and American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice.
- Act within the policies and procedures of the University, hospital, division, and clinical departments.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
- Current license as a nurse in New York State is required.
- CPR/BCLS Certified.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills and a collaborative team approach to patient care.
- Must conform to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance, and safety guidelines.
- Experience in Urodynamics.
