Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Be an internal subject matter expert on environmental, social and governmental (ESG) data requirements, understanding what data is required and for what purpose. Partner with management teams and deal teams to explain how to calculate metrics required. Develop a process for auditing, validating, and assuring the quality of the data provided and work with deal teams and portfolio companies to manage this process. Work with ESG Regulatory team to understand how data provided informs reporting for regulations and frameworks and as regulatory requirements are updated, ensure updated information is requested from portfolio companies. Ensure requests for ESG data are coordinated with other data requests from portfolio companies and deal teams. Work with Fund & Information Management team to obtain and integrate financials required to aggregate and normalize ESG metrics. Translate data provided into reporting for the ESG Data Convergence Initiative (“EDCI”), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”), Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (“SFDR”), and United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (“UNPRI”) submissions. Utilize data provided to put together customized feedback for all portfolio companies which submitted ESG data to provide insights and ways to improve ESG data collection efforts. Review and compile data for investor requests and sustainability reports. Create analyses and dashboards for deal teams and business leaders with ESG data provided to help with key insights by investment and business unit. Review potential software tools to capture ESG data through a streamlined tool. Additionally, manage roll-out process of new tool, including uploading of historical data and set-up of reporting functionality. Oversee roll-out of selected ESG data collection tool by providing trainings for deal teams and portfolio companies. Work with ESG data collection software tool to support linkages with GHG emissions calculations tool. Work with Product Management team to contribute to the development and execution of data strategy and governance plan.Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Environmental Science, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Energy Management, Accounting, Sustainability, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Environmental Science, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Energy Management, Accounting, Sustainability, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years with a Bachelor’s degree with the following: connecting various requirements into one synchronized process and work with various stakeholders for regulatory reporting, client requests, voluntary sustainability reports and internal presentations; Experience with Microsoft Excel to collect, store, aggregate and analyze ESG data and sustainability metrics collected across numerous companies; analyzing data collected to create dashboards and scorecards and to translate into actionable insights for business unit leaders; and utilizing data governance best practices to accurately implement auditable processes for data processing and storage from numerous systems and stakeholders. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with the following: gaining project management experience to run data collection program across numerous companies, interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and coordinating requests from portfolio companies and clients; validating large sets of ESG and sustainability metrics and ensure data accuracy to create analyses for regulatory and client reporting; and carbon accounting experience.Job Code: 7665011Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $166,000-$225,000.
