The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Summary

The Treasury associate will support complex Transaction Banking sales execution efforts in MUFG’s Japanese Corporate Banking portfolio. The successful candidate will work with, and support, Treasury Relationship Managers (TRMs) to provide consultative solutions to clients. This is an entry level sales role where the associate will assist in generating new revenue through the sale of Transaction Banking products and services to bank prospects and existing clients. The associate will develop proficiency and knowledge of treasury and operational practices and demonstrate the ability to work independently managing to deadlines.

Major Responsibilities:

SALES SUPPORT AND EXECUTION:

  • Proactively assist Treasury Sales team in exceeding assigned revenue and sales activity goals.

  • Develop and leverage industry, treasury systems and operations knowledge to provide high-level consultative value.

  • Partner with assigned TRMs to create appropriate product solutions for clients based on their needs and industry best practices.

  • Support larger projects as assigned by TRMs or the Team Lead

  • Reduce non-sales activities for TRMs.

  • Resolve issues/questions when a TRM is out of office.

  • Support new client proposals and onboardings as required.

  • Proactively recommend cross sell opportunities.

  • Independently research and build written content for complex proposals using available internal resources.

  • Design client/prospect communications, proposals, and pricing as required.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and internal partners.

  • Respond to queries on product capabilities from internal partners and clients.

  • Develop a network of contacts in Transaction Banking (Product, Client Delivery, Risk, and Compliance) to assist in process management and problem resolution.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  • Create and submit worksheets/memos for new product implementations.

  • Oversee implementations through completion; escalate issues as required.

  • Manage maintenance requests as needed.

RISK/COMPLIANCE:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to follow policies and procedures that support the Bank's Risk Vision, including the Bank's anti-money laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and other relevant operational, compliance and risk management requirements as appropriate.

  • Adhere to, and further, a culture of risk and compliance discipline, which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining compliance with Bank and business process-related policies and procedures, exhibiting a basic understanding of the risks associated with the employee's position, escalating issues of risk concern to management, and maintaining appropriate data integrity and confidentiality regarding customer files, information and business transactions.

Technical Requirements:

  • One year of applicable work experience in treasury management and/or sales required.

  • Typically requires a degree from a four-year college (e.g., B.A, B.S.) or equivalent work experience, plus strong technical experience and skills.

  • Fluency in Japanese is a plus, but not required.

  • Knowledge of corporate treasury and financial operations is a plus.

  • A general understanding of widely used ERP and accounting systems is a plus.

  • Proven professional verbal, written, and presentation skills required.

  • The ability to work in a team environment; fostering a healthy and collaborative environment with all business partners is needed.

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills are required.

  • Ability and desire to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion is required.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $80K - $100K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
