Morgan Stanley AVP Payments Product Manager in New York, New York

Morgan Stanley is building out an industry-leading deposits and cash management offering, that capitalizes on the acquisitions of E*TRADE and Shareworks.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Manager to join the Morgan Stanley Private Banking Group's Payments Product Management team. The team is responsible for a variety of payment products, with an emphasis on driving a holistic and engaging product experience spanning debit cards, checking, mobile deposit, ACH and credit cards.

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating best products possible as well continually enhancing existing products. This involves working on products from initial concept through to launch and beyond.

This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team, focused on innovation and growing deposits across all channels at Morgan Stanley. The Product Management team collaborates with cross functional partners in Legal, Risk, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, Operations & Technology to discover, develop, build, enhance and grow deposits and the payments business. We leverage competitor data, market insights and data to design solutions that meet customer needs, align to business goals and maximize revenue for the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the Payments strategy across all touch points for our products
  • Support enhancements to the servicing model and escalations process to better serve the needs of sophisticated, high net worth clients
  • Serve as an escalation point for client service issues
  • Support the existing Payments & Card Products currently offered
  • Identify and resolve product functionality gaps and open audit issues
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and implement process / platform improvement opportunities
  • Monitor competitor offerings and provide summary reporting of key industry movements

Experience:

  • 4 - 6 years of professional experience in product management or banking services
  • Banking or wealth management experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional, strategic initiatives
  • Experience in Agile Tech project management preferred
  • Functional experience in some or all the following: product management and development, strategy, marketing, communications, finance
  • BA/BS required

  • Great presentation and powerpoint skills, with ability to put together cohesive, senior management-ready decks
  • Strong communicator with solid written and verbal presentation skills
  • Appreciate & encourage diversity of people, ideas & perspectives Strong desire to lead projects, propose innovative solutions, and drive results. Display entrepreneurial initiative, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent data management skills.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
