Job Description Summary
Assist the Director of Housekeeping in managing all aspects of the Housekeeping Department and ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company objectives. The Assistant Director is responsible for maintaining a neat and organized housekeeping and the security of the hotel linen and supplies inventory. Adhere to all brand standards and desk merchandising. Serve as Housekeeping Manager in his/her absence.
Job Description
Assists in managing housekeeping functions and staff on a daily basis to ensure property guest rooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained
Directs and works with team to successfully execute all housekeeping operations
Position focuses on ensuring guest and employee satisfaction and achieving the operating budget
Reviews staffing levels on a daily basis to ensure operational needs are met
Manages daily room assignments according to agreed upon sections and seniority
Obtains VIP list of rooms
Manages inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies
Supervises an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space
Understands the impact of department's operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
Supervises daily housekeeping shift operations and ensures compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards and procedures
Participates in departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results
Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees
Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to policy
Ensures employee recognition is taking place on all shifts
Participates in employee progressive discipline procedures
Review employee Associate Satisfaction Survey results and participates in action plans according to the department.
Participates in interviewing and hiring of team members
Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
- Knowledge of Opera and internet software preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.
- Bi-Lingual communications skills a plus.
- Strong communication skills.

Pay Range
Annual Compensation Range: $75, 000 - $85, 000
Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
