You will provide key administrative support to the Major Gifts Officer in the Department of Institutional Advancement with regard to The Met’s highest-level donor groups, namely the Chairman’s Council (90 Members), the International Council (50 Members), and the Vanguard Council (new young leadership group). You will manage solicitations and membership renewals, schedule annual meetings and programming for the Council Groups, and execute the internal preparation required to organize the groups’ local and international activities. You will communicate with Members about their various requests surrounding the meetings, events and special visits to The Met; and coordinate with Met colleagues regarding their interface with the Members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Coordinate with the Research team to determine viable prospects
Manage solicitation and renewal process
Draft acknowledgment letters and other correspondence for Members and prospects
Prepare materials for internal cultivation, solicitation, and strategy meetings
Schedule, prepare materials for (including invitations, brochures, agendas etc.), and assist with follow-up for the Council Groups’ meetings, events, and other programming
Communicate with Met Trustee leadership of each group regarding their many questions and ideas around programming
Manage stewardship for Members including organizing events
Organize travel for relevant Met colleagues as they relate to the Council Groups
Maintain and update Tessitura database records
Work closely with Met departments including Legal, Design, Curatorial, Special Events
Other related duties relating to ensuring a responsive team effort at the service of the Council Groups
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Previous Development experience strongly preferred
Proven excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail is critical
Must be highly motivated, proactive, and able to function in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work well with others, as well as independently
Must be able to work morning and evening events
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) required; knowledge of databases preferred
COMPENSATION RATE:
Pay Rate: $39.00 / Hourly

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
