About the Role

The Assistant Chief Program Officer (ACPO) will work closely with the Chief Program Officer and the Organization’s leadership to ensure the provision of high quality services and supports to achieve organizational and programmatic goals in a mission-driven culture . The Assistant Chief Program Officer will support the work of the O rganization by advising and providing consultation to the Chief Program Officer , Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents of programs, serv ing as a liaison between program s and the administrative departments of the organization , support ing the growth of the organization through strategic pr ogram development and enhancement s to service delivery .

In addition to the dutie s listed below the ACPO will serv e as the C hief of S taff to the Chief Program Officer , will supervise the Centralized Intake and Referral Department as well as the Program Expansion and Enhancement Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following . Other duties may be assigned.

Active c ommitment to organizational mission and vision and providing high quality programs. S upport a high performing culture aligned with Rising Ground’s expectations and core values.

Working closely with Chief Program Officer and organization leadership to ensure success in program’s operations . This includes but is not limited to:

  • Managing initiatives that impact programs, most specifically, initiatives that impact multiple programs to ensure that consistent implementation is occurring.

  • Working closely with the Inst itutional A dvancement Department and p rogram l eadership to s upport mission driven program development and expansion . This includes governmental contracts, fee for service programming and supplemental funding through private foundations.

  • S upporting expansion into new areas of service by ensuring that new business is fiscally viable , mission consistent , and that that organization has the capacity to successfully launch and implement .

  • Manag ing the implementation of PROMISE, the Organization’s trauma informed, person center ed system and philosophy of service delivery.

  • Manag ing all accreditations for prog rams and divisions . This includes ensuring that programs are in compliance and prepared for reviews as well as working with organization leadership to explore new accreditation opportunities when appropriate .

  • Serve as the lead in e nsuring that all programs have person supported advisory boards that are consistent with the oversight requirements for each program . When necessary, develop protocols for these advisory boards and work with program leadership to ensure that they are taking place .

  • M anaging special projects

    Directly s upervising the Intake and Referral Department . This includes working with programs and the intake team to maximize enrollment in programs , ensure efficiencies in the internal referral process es and exploring the appropriateness of including additional programs in the centralized intake process .

    Directly s upervis e the Program Expansion and Enhancement Coordinator . This newly designed position will also support the operation of the Organization’s programs by ensuring high quality service delivery, the develop ment of enhanced programming within and across divisions and will support the developmen t of new programming for the Organization.

    Collaborate with support divisions within the organizations such as Finance, Human Resources, Performance, Evaluation and Measurement , General Counsel, Institutional Advancement, Program Development, and other program areas .

    E nsur e that program operations are being executed in accordance with the O rganization ’s policies and oversight’s regulations .

    R aise the Organization ’s profile through external communications , representation at key events, serving on advisory boards, relevant committee and task forces.

  • Keep abreast and maintain knowledge of current, developing trends, research and best practice models.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Serves as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Program Officer. Directly supervises the Intake Supervisor and the Program Expansion and Enhancement Coordinator . Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these divisions . Carries out supervisory resp o nsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws . Responsibilities include interviewing, and hiring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems . Identify and provide opportunities for professional growth and development . Work with staff to develop system to ensu r e high-quality consistent programs and organizational goals .

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent , plus seven to ten years' experience managing high-performing team s in a multi-site , multi-service structure , includ ing professional development and mentorship.

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning, program matic regulations , requirements , budget s , and current best practices .

  • Expertise in one or more of the following service areas : youth development, child welfare and juvenile justice , intellectual and developmental disabilities , community-based service provision , health services, managed care .

  • Experience in data-driven evaluations and analyses . Ability to w ork closely with the finance department to budget and monitor programmatic operations to ensure sound fi scal and system management .

  • Ability to w ork closely with Performance, Evaluation and Measurement Department to e nsure the delivery of qualitative and quantitative goals and outco mes of programs and services . Analyze and assess programs based on data collected and implement corrective measures if required .

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in our Headquarters at 1333 Broadway office in Midtown Manhattan. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, 10 am - 6 pm.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.

  • Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites

    Our Compensation & Benefits

    The pay rate for this position is between$190,000 - $210,000/Yr., depending on experience and fit for the role . Rising Ground offers competitive compensation based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size.
