The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York All Ranks - Assistant/Associate Professor of Radiology (Pediatric IR ) in New York, New York

The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a full-time faculty member to join as a pediatric interventional radiologist in our Interventional Radiology division. Our ideal candidate has strong interventional and interpretative skills in all modalities including advanced applications. Strong interpersonal skills and a proven aptitude in working with multidisciplinary clinical teams are of great importance. Our radiologists also participate in our very active training program which includes top-tier approved IR/DR Integrated and Independent residencies. Research is highly encouraged but not required.

The Vascular and Interventional Radiology section offers the full scope of outpatient and inpatient practice and performs over 10,000 procedures a year. The section covers a diverse array of sites including a large tertiary academic center in New York City, NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital (MSCH), a community hospital in Westchester, and two robust outpatient centers in midtown Manhattan and Tarrytown, NY.

Procedures performed include both arterial and venous interventions, liver and renal transplant interventions including TIPS and complex biliary and vascular interventions, interventional oncology including radioembolization, chemoembolization, immunoembolization, microwave ablation, and cryoablation, IVC placement and complex removals, sclerotherapy and embolization of vascular malformations, prostate artery embolization, uterine fibroid embolization, superficial and deep venous interventions, dialysis interventions including percutaneous fistula creation, musculoskeletal interventions including osteoid osteoma and aneurysmal bone cysts, and arterial embolization for pediatric trauma.

MSCH is a level I pediatric trauma center and tertiary referral center with a state-of-the-art, multimodality service and superb imaging facilities. It is one of the birthplaces of pediatric radiology with a long tradition of excellence in the field. Our pediatric IR team has a strong and very collegial working relationship with pediatric surgery and all pediatric subspecialties, including co-leadership in the multidisciplinary pediatric Vascular Anomalies Group.

Columbia provides the best location to work in New York City with a very easy commute from anywhere on the west side of Manhattan or from any number of great towns/villages in the beautiful suburbs of northern New Jersey or Westchester and Rockland Counties in New York.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary Range is $350,000 - $500,000.

Minimum Degree Required:

  • Medical Degree or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ABR certified or eligible.
  • IR CAQ certified or eligible
  • Eligible to practice in New York state
  • Able to meet credentialing requirements of the Medical Staff Office.
  • Narcotics license desirable
