POSITION DETAILS

The Administrative Specialist will report to the Administrative Officer at SSW. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Administrative Specialist will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

-Participate in the planning of school & community sponsored events; coordinate room reservations and assist in ensuring availability of internal campus facilities.

-Schedule & coordinate program meetings, interviews and assist in the management of administrative tasks for searches and other internal operational activities.

-Collaboratively work with University-wide staff to assist with use of the Silberman facilities, including the coordination of all work requests.

-Represent the Dean’s Office both internally to the College and University, and externally to various communities, under direction.

-Provide support for ongoing assessment activities and assists with analysis of results and creating reports; and maintain and update office databases, lists and files.

-Maintain liaison with departments or other administrators ofSSW, and assist with the overall coordination of special programs.

-Draft internal & external communications; and assists with the preparation of presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.

Other Qualifications

-Have strong organizational skills to coordinate work plans, prioritize schedules and manage multiple assignments

-Have a strong knowledge of CUNY First, Blackboard, Interfolio and Financial Edge to assist faculty & staff with administrative tasks

  • Oversees department operations and assists management in planning department activities, creating schedules, assigning staff and preparing and delivering department communications.

  • Works with appropriate offices related to personnel recruitment, expediting search activities

  • Research coordinates and organizes materials for key events such as promotion and tenure reviews.

  • Supervises and trains support staff and student workers.

  • Manages budget and coordinates purchasing, accounting, and payroll.

  • Provides instructions and basic advice to students, faculty, and others seeking information on department activities, policies, and schedules.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience ($70,238 - $82,928).
