Robert Half Accounting Manager in New York, New York

Description We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Accounting Manager for our education industry client based in New York. This role involves overseeing the timely and accurate completion of the close process, maintaining the daily flow of financial information, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. This contract role offers a chance to work within a dynamic team and contribute significantly to our financial operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the close process

• Maintaining the daily flow of financial information for timely and efficient achievements of close and post deliverables

• Reviewing account reconciliations for multiple accounts

• Assisting in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports

• Supporting in developing and improving controls, policies, and processes as needed

• Assisting with fieldwork for the annual audit process and addressing selections and resolutions

• Researching technical accounting issues

• Managing credit card orders and training as necessary

• Preparing budget reports and compiling requests into a consolidated file for leadership to review

• Assisting with the preparation of various tax forms, and financial data, such as various surveys and statistics for approval

• Working with the finance team on various projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.

Skills required for this role include proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, and Billing Functions. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC)

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP)

• Expertise in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing

• Proficiency in Billing Functions

• Must have a background in the education industry

• Must have prior experience in a managerial role within the accounting function

• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA certification is preferred
