Description We are actively seeking a meticulous Credit Clerk to join our team in New York. This role operates within the insurance industry, focusing primarily on accounting tasks. The Credit Clerk will be responsible for handling customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving credit-related queries. This role also involves monitoring and taking necessary actions on customer credit accounts to handle overdue payments.

Responsibilities:

• Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date customer credit records

• Address and resolve customer queries related to credit

• Monitor customer credit accounts regularly to identify overdue payments

• Take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments from customers

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to track and manage credit-related data

• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure smooth operations

• Adhere to all company policies and regulations related to credit processing

• Report any inconsistencies or discrepancies in customer credit data

• Strive for continuous improvement in all credit-related processes and procedures. Requirements • Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education

• Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is required

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups

• Strong understanding of general ledger functions and financial statements

• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures

• Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
