Robert Half Financial Project Manager in New Orleans, Louisiana

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Financial Project Manager in New Orleans, Louisiana. The role involves executing financial projects, managing financial activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of all finance-related tasks. Responsibilities:

• Execute full-cycle accounting duties, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and fixed asset management.

• Conduct variance analysis and ad-hoc reporting.

• Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure.

• Implement and maintain internal controls, including risk assessments.

• Prepare financial statements and provide tax support.

• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with professional standards such as ASC 842 Lease Accounting and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.

• Document and improve financial procedures, policies, and processes.

• Manage grants and conduct cost accounting.

• Create financial models and data visualizations.

• Implement ERP Systems and utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel for financial management.

• Apply analytical skills to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable insights.

• Manage cash and treasury operations.

• Assist in business process improvement and ensure compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Financial Project Manager or similar role

• Proficiency in Journal Entries and Financial Reporting is required

• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential

• Experience in Data Visualization and Account Reconciliation is necessary

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory

• Familiarity with Consolidated Financial Statements and Month End Close processes is required

• Proficiency in Account Analysis and Analytical Skills is needed

• Experience in Cash Management and Treasury Management is highly desirable

• Knowledge of Grant Accounting and Cost Accounting is required

• Experience in System Implementation and Business process improvement is essential

• Proficiency in Process Documentation and Internal Control is needed

• Knowledge of SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley, ASC 606, ASC 740, ASC 815, ASC 842, and ASC 985-605 is essential

• Must be able to work in a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Must be capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or PMP is highly desirable.
