Robert Half Corporate Tax Director in New Orleans, Louisiana

Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Corporate Tax Director in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the corporate tax department, handling all aspects of income and franchise tax returns, advocating company positions on tax controversies, planning tax minimization strategies, and ensuring compliance with various tax laws. While our client prefers a licensed CPA, they will consider those without. This role is situated in the heart of the corporate industry and will significantly contribute to the smooth operation of our financial functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare income and franchise tax returns for all entities and individuals in a competent and timely manner.

• Determine and ensure timely payment of estimated tax payments for all entities required to make such payments.

• Defend the company's position on tax controversies with taxing authorities.

• Plan and execute tax minimization strategies for the benefit of the company.

• Ensure compliance with state and local sales, use, property, and miscellaneous tax laws.

• Assist the accounting department in determining, supporting, and recording tax-related transactions and entries.

• Serve as primary contact to management on the tax effects of proposed transactions.

• Work closely with the accounting department in managing and maintaining the depreciation system.

• Serve as primary point of contact to lenders and other third party agencies.

• Assist with special projects as needed.

• Utilize skills in Corporate Tax Compliance, Corporate Tax Department, Corporate Tax Return, Corporate Income Tax, Franchise Tax.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate tax role

• Proven expertise in Corporate Tax Compliance

• Experience in managing a Corporate Tax Department

• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Corporate Tax Returns

• Extensive knowledge of Corporate Income Tax laws and regulations

• Familiarity with Franchise Tax

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification strongly preferred

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
