This role will be filled as a Communications Specialist I or II, depending on the candidate’s experience and education.

Job Summary/Purpose

The communications specialist will work collaboratively within the Corporate Affairs and Communications department and with internal business partners in development and execution of long-term, annual and campaign-specific communications that support the company’s vision, mission, brand and strategic endeavors. This individual will produce a significant volume of written and multimedia content, and help shape the company’s internal and external stakeholder communications strategy.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Counsels executive leaders and other employees on communication best practices, reputation management, and strategic PR planning and execution.

  • Contributes to and executes a communications strategy designed to inform internal and external stakeholders and improve engagement. Monitors industry news about the corporation and its competitors and identifies emerging issues.

  • Shares responsibility for planning and creating a wide variety of content, and for managing internal communications platforms and publications, including intranet homepage, mass email system, internal social media, digital signage and other communications channels.

  • Works at the direction of the manager of employee communications and other department leaders to support ongoing company initiatives and special projects.

  • Engages proactively with company leaders and other employees to identify business needs and goals, then crafts communication plans and materials to address those needs and goals.

  • Participates on project teams for studio productions and supports storm and crisis communications efforts. Provides assistance to colleagues on communications campaigns.

  • Develops and helps to analyze mass-audience communications metrics to help evaluate the effectiveness of programs and communications; helps shape the company’s employee communications strategy.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

Communications Specialist I: 0-3 years

Communications Specialist II: 3-5 years

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Writing, editing, and communications planning skills (AP style knowledge a plus).
