Description

Title : Department Assistant - Behavioral Health at New Milford Hospital. Full time/40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Summary: To provide secretarial and office support functions to promote efficient and effective operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Scheduling patients appointments for MD's and APRN's.

  2. Prepare and review charts daily for appointments.

  3. Answer phones and take messages.

  4. File charts on a daily basis.

  5. Typing all correspondence daily.

  6. Get prior authorization from insurance companies.

  7. Get prior authorization for medication.

  8. Prepare new charts to be reviewed at Staff Meeting.

  9. Assist patients with no insurance to get free meds.

  10. Have patients fill out surveys for DMHA's website.

  11. Occasionally review charts for accuracy. Occasionally work on special projects.

  12. May be cross trained to provide coverage across the service line as needed.

  13. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:

Required: High School Diploma/GED. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Works on multiple projects. Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills. Requires 1+ year experience providing administrative support. Associate�s Degree preferred.

Salary Range: $16.00 - $29.51 hourly (This is a Union position)
