Robert Half DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN in New London, Connecticut

Description We are in search of a Desktop Support Analyst based in New London, Connecticut, who is proficient in the repair, maintenance, and installation of microcomputers, peripheral equipment, and mobile devices. This role operates within the telecom industry and is expected to have a thorough understanding of operating systems including but not limited to Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS. This role is a contract-based position.

Responsibilities:

• Execute the installation, repair, and maintenance of microcomputers and peripheral equipment

• Configure and deploy mobile devices as per company policies and procedures

• Diagnose and resolve problems by distinguishing between local hardware, application, and network issues

• Coordinate the expeditious repair or replacement of defective equipment to ensure computer hardware and associated peripherals are functioning as designed

• Maintain vigilance for security threats, non-compliant activities, and system anomalies

• Deploy new PCs in accordance with company policies and procedures

• Methodically and efficiently troubleshoot reported problems

• Inspect equipment, associated peripherals, and wiring for signs of pre-failure indicators

• Demonstrate professionalism and respect for the customer and team members

• Travel to multiple company facilities as necessary.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Windows operating systems

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and manage defects

• Strong knowledge of network protocols, desktop hardware configurations, and peripherals

• Exceptional customer service, written, verbal, listening, interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of compliance functions, policy, and procedures

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and responsibilities accordingly

• Proficiency in current Microsoft Office Suites and operating systems

• Ability to interact well with multiple groups both internal and external to our organization, becoming the single point of contact for problem resolution. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites including Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Experience with MS Windows and Windows OS

• Familiarity with Active Directory and Configuration Management

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them efficiently

• Knowledge of office functions and procedures

• Experience working with vendors and managing facility-related issues

• Willingness to travel as required by the job

• Understanding and adherence to company policies and compliance functions

• Experience in Deskside Support and ability to execute tasks as per best practices

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

• Familiarity with Defect Management processes

• Understanding of operating systems and proficiency in their use
