Production Planner

New Kensington, PA

$75,000 - $80,000

Kelly Services in partnership with a global diverse manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team. The Production Planner will work closely with our production facilities team to ensure optimal inventory and production levels, manage daily scheduling of production and shipping requirements, and coordinate expediting activities to meet customer demands. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with the centralized planning team and production facilities to align production plans with overall company objectives.

  • Implement and execute inventory strategies to achieve optimal levels, balancing customer service goals and cost objectives.

  • Monitor and manage inventory days on hand to align with strategic goals.

  • Clear and process any system errors generated by production that may cause delays in shipments promptly.

  • Ensure customer on-time service levels exceed 95% through effective production planning and coordination.

  • Address customer concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Communicate accurate information regarding orders to plants and customer service teams.

  • Optimize production capacity utilization while considering storage constraints.

  • Collaborate with operations to identify and address capacity challenges proactively.

  • Maintain regular communication with operations, customer support, warehousing, purchasing departments, and on-site teams to ensure smooth production operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address scheduling adherence issues and implement root cause corrective actions.

  • Utilize and maintain ERP planning systems, with a preference for experience in SAP, to ensure accurate and up-to-date production data.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data management.

  • Apply lean six sigma principles to identify opportunities for process improvement within the production planning and inventory management functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in production planning or a related role within the supply chain.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and experience with ERP planning systems, with SAP preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is preferred

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
