Job Description

Job Title: Operational Buyer Scheduler

Location: New Johnsonville TN

Albemarle Corporation is looking for an Operational Buyer/Scheduler for its New Johnsonville, TN location. This position reports to the Specialties North America Supply Chain Manager. This role works closely with the Production Planner and Supply Chain Procurement to support the S&OP process through ordering and scheduling adequate quantities and deliveries of Direct and Indirect materials. Due to the the wide scope of communication needs, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills the ability to communicate cross-functionally with a diversified group of managers and coworkers across manufacturing and supply chain.

Mission:

  • Execute function of activities in accordance to Albemarle’s Supply Chain & Procurement Policies and Procedures while adhering to Albemarle’s core values

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review, modify, and approve the order requirements generated by the S4 ERP system and release Purchase Orders generated to suppliers.

  • Creation and management on expediting purchase orders via S4 HANNA including confirmation of orders for purchase requirements.

  • Monitor open purchase orders and late deliveries.

  • Align ROH and VERP purchase specifications between plants.

  • Review inbound invoices for reconciliation between goods receipt and billing.

  • Align RAW/VERP demand with production planners.

  • Coordinate delivery of goods with Logistics and Warehouse of incoming materials.

  • Quarterly/yearly evaluation of supplier’s performance.

  • Manage/Participate in resolving supplier payment problems.

  • Enter and manage level 2 QN notification that are supplier specific.

  • Support plant operations with inventory analysis, and min/max optimization for direct materials.

  • Manage supply assurance and supplier delivery performance for key suppliers to plants under responsibility.

  • Provide training and guidance of procurement administration, and support problem resolution for the P2P process.

  • Maintains all ERP system modules relating to the Materials Planning and Production Control functions. Monitors system for problems and makes corrections.

  • Participates with Operations, Sales and Engineering in establishing delivery commitments. (Order Review and Lead time discussions.) Provides early warning and corrective action recommendations to senior management if Operations/customer commitments are in jeopardy.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for planning/buying functions.

  • Serve as back up to plant production planner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain detailed accurate delivery dates of inbound materials

  • Prevention of shortfalls of production due to lack of materials.

  • Creating QN complaints from suppliers involving material availability and drive resolution/corrective actions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Logistics, Procurement, or Manufacturing.

  • Use of ERP systems to maintain supply flow of materials in Manufacturing.

  • Daily experience with Excel, SAP, Sharepoint, Teams and Outlook.

  • Strong organization.

  • Task oriented; capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously, and ability to prioritize competing tasks..

  • Capable of developing leadership relationships with a wide variety of individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • SAP knowledge of areas such as, Purchasing, Logistics, Accounts Payable, etc.

  • Experience in end to end process of customer order fulfillment.

  • Knowledge of rates and process capabilities in Chemical Operations

  • Able to interface with multiple personalities in a consistent, professional manner

  • Strong motivational skills.
