Bucks County SPCA Maintenance Assistant in New Hope, Pennsylvania

This employer will be on-site conducting interviews at our Multi-Industry Job & Community Resource Fair which will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2024, at PA CareerLink® Bucks County, 4800 Street Rd., Suite 50, Trevose, PA  19053.  The Job Fair hours are 10:30 AM -- 12:30 PM.  For more information on the Multi-Industry Job & Resource Fair, please contact Jessica Peterson at jpeterson@buckscareerlink.org.

This position will primarily assist the organization with vehicle maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, community service volunteer scheduling, and cleaning as assigned. Basic cleaning equipment and supplies are provided by BCSPCA, but qualified candidates will need to supply their own tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all job duties in an efficient, positive, helpful manner with good internal customer service to staff and volunteers. Participates in and promotes BCSPCA safety programs. Willingly assists public in all aspects of BCSPCA programs. Shares information to enhance the public's knowledge of animal welfare, as well as their knowledge of the BCSPCA's mission and policies in a helpful, positive, and timely fashion.
  • Provides building maintenance at BCSPCA's Quakertown shelter. After gaining management approval, arrange for service personnel to fix issues that need professional attention. ie: hiring gutter cleaners, plumbers, etc.
  • Manages BCSPCA vehicle maintenance: oil changes, inspections, recalls etc.
  • Updates maintenance records for equipment, vehicles, building and grounds.
  • Schedules chores for and supervises community service volunteers.
  • Sweep, mop and polish the floors in the lobby; clean rest rooms and offices.
  • Assist with organization of donation and supply storage areas.
  • Assist with morning cleaning of animal care areas if needed as assigned. Follow correct enrichment feeding protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

WORK EXPERIENCE and TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience with vehicle, building, and grounds maintenance
  • Ability to take direction and work consistently with a positive attitude
  • Meticulous recordkeeping skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills including self-motivation and reliability
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a team environment to assure all of BCSPCA's goals are met
  • Basic-level computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and internet; use of standard office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, scanners, copy machines, and printers

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to convey instructions and information in a clear positive manner to co-workers and volunteers

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Good decision-making and leadership skills

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid State of Pennsylvania driver's license and a great driving record
