Savencia Cheese USA Maintenance Team Lead, 2nd shift in New Holland, Pennsylvania
Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for leading the maintenance department team/personnel through a hands-on approach. Responsibilities include setting priorities to the maintenance team members on their shift to respond to Production needs, improving maintenance, automation and manufacturing processes and developing maintenance personnel for optimum efficiency. Individual will lead preventative and autonomous maintenance process through continuous improvement while promoting a positive attitude, work environment, and quality teamwork within the maintenance department. The position is responsible for communicating up escalating as needed, communicating down to the maintenance team and communicating across department. This position is the key contact for production leads when support is necessary.
Essential Functions

· Assists the Maintenance Manager and acts as a back up to the Manager when not on site leading the maintenance team and escalating as needed.
· Leads and mentors and helps train the maintenance team.
· Educate production operators regarding equipment operation as needed.
· Promotes and maintains a positive attitude and promotes continuity and teamwork within the maintenance department and across departments.
· Directs the maintenance of physical assets of the plant to ensure continued operation and attainment of line effectiveness, yields and costs.
· Supports the operations team in reviewing operating standards, line speeds, OEE, yields and identify improvement opportunities.
· Completes long-term predictive and preventive plans to improve equipment sustainability as assigned by maintenance supervisor, and attainment of line effectiveness, yields and competitive costs
· Supports the PM process, hands out work and follows up on work orders not returned
· Ensures compliance with all company, city, state, and federal regulations
· Participates in Continuous Improvement Processes
· Leads by example and re-enforces all Safety and Quality policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) to their maintenance team.
· Manage maintenance personnel on shift: including orientation and training of new employees, coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and discipline.
· Maintains regular, predictable attendance
· Participate in or lead pre shift meeting, shift huddle and pass down
· Responsible for sending out daily shift report regarding their shift
· Other duties as assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours vary depending on the shift and department. Overtime and weekend work is required at times. Vacation coverage as needed.

Required Education and Experience
Associates (or other) Degree in relevant field or commensurate experience
5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment or dairy industry
Five plus years of experience in industrial plant maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 1 years' experience in a leadership capacity.
Requires the ability to use basic shop mathematics; handbook formulas; to interpret simple blueprints or drawings, use a wide variety of tools or precision measuring instruments; may setup, re-tool, operate a somewhat complex machine.
Electrical and pneumatic trouble shoots and repairs.
Knowledge of PLC systems.
Inventory control.
Strong Communication skills in English.
Preventative and predictive Maintenance.
Computer proficiency.
Preferred Education and Experience
Demonstrated technical aptitude and strong experience with fluid mechanics, refrigeration (ammonia systems), heat transfer process, building/plant construction and new equipment installation with sanitary design of USDA/3A sanitary design principles, OSHA, EPA and related regulations, industrial best practices engineering principles.
Bilingual English/Spanish
