POSITION: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

LOCATION: NEW HAVEN, CT (HYBRID - 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote)

Job Responsibilities:

• Process day-to-day accounting tasks including cash forecasts, reconciliations, inventory management, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

• Provide strategic assistance to department heads and store managers on financial matters.

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

• Create, analyze, reconcile, and post journal entries in our ERP system.

• Prepare detailed and accurate account reconciliations and month-end closing work papers.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in all financial statements and reports.

• Generate daily cash reports and forecasts to support cash flow management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles.

• Retail industry accounting experience preferred.

• Proficiency in ERP software; experience with Power BI is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.

• Deep understanding of GAAP principles and their application in financial reporting.
