Sales Representative, Distributor

This is a home-based position and must live/call on customers in the Birmingham, AL area

Are you as passionate as we are in servicing our distributors? If so, we have an exciting opportunity on our ASSA ABLOY sales team that is meant for you. We provide unsurpassed support to our distributor channel while promoting the sales of ASSA ABLOY products, solutions, and services.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with our contract hardware distribution channel. We are looking for a sales professional capable of relationship and technical solution selling who can negotiate and close profitable sales revenue for the product lines represented by Door Security Solutions. You can expect to be part of a fun, hardworking team with colleagues dedicated to mutual success.

Key areas you will contribute to in the role include:

  • Develop and maintain relationships in all areas of the distributor’s organization

  • Actively solicit, follow-up, and negotiate all quote opportunities

  • Manage distributor buying programs

  • Actively promote distributor promotions and programs to secure discretionary sales revenue

  • Work closely with distributors to ensure that they quote ASSA ABLOY specifications

  • Conduct regularly scheduled distributor business reviews

  • Plan, coordinate, & conduct distributor product/solution training sessions

  • Coordinate the resolution of product & field service issues

  • Manage brand shelf space at distributor accounts

    What we are looking for

    You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions. You are detail-oriented, organized and known for follow-up habits. You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator. You can work independently but believe in teamwork. Your background includes a College/University degree (preferred) or high school/GED diploma. Proficient in MS Office tools and ability to learn, utilize and maintain CRM tool for sales and activity reporting. Experience working in the distribution channel of the door & hardware industry and multi-line sales expertise. Ability t o travel on a weekly/monthly basis to meet with customers. You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations. Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
