Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in New Haven, Connecticut

Description

We are searching for a meticulous Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team located in New Haven, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full cycle of accounting duties or supervise others in the basic tasks, such as accounts payable.

• Familiarity with a range of financial transactions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Handle bank reconciliations and manage general ledger.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

• Prepare financial reports for tax returns, direct internal and external audits.

• Implement and manage the organization's computerized accounting systems.

• Use Microsoft Excel and Word to increase efficiency and accuracy in tasks.

• Expertise in QuickBooks for managing accounting functions and preparing financial statements.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services, and Automated Payroll and Billing.

• Ensure accuracy in general bookkeeping functions including the verification and allocation of business transactions.

• Conduct revenue and payments analysis and report findings and recommendations to management.

• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Full Charge Bookkeeper role or similar

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Skilled in the use of Computerized Accounting Systems

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in QuickBooks

• Demonstrated experience in Bookkeeping and Bookkeeping Functions

• Familiarity with Automated Payroll and Automated Billing systems

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
