Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Clinical Research Assistant for Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science (RITMS) within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.The Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science (RITMS) was founded in January 2016 and is directed by the Vice-Chancellor for clinical and translational science, Dr. Reynold Panettieri. RITMS conducts basic research in immunology, physiology and molecular biology. RITMS provides unique opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral research and clinical education, and cooperative education training. The program is interdisciplinary by nature.The position will cover both the basic scientific research and clinical research worlds of the RITMS. In regards to the clinical research section, the applicant will have the opportunity to observe and assist in all aspects of the clinical research experience. This includes assisting with the research subject visits for various ongoing studies, the creation of protocol for future studies, the adaptation of sponsor-initiated protocols for participation here, and submitting protocols for review by the Institutional Review Board. The basic research expectations include the performance of experiments related with evaluating cellular responses generated by glucocorticoids and cAMP-elevating agents in lung cells. Responsibilities will include culturing different lung cell types (both primary cells and cell lines) and performing immunological assays (immunofluorescent staining, ELISA, & western blots). Additional responsibilities will keeping accurate records and notes; ordering lab supplies; working knowledge of MS Office to keep inventories of experimental reagents; data analysis and general lab duties.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
