Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Manager for the Institute of Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. Rutgers Institute for Health is recruiting for a highly-skilled, organized and flexible Research Project Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary academic environment.Reporting to the Executive Director at the Center for State Health Policy, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all study safety operations, including data collection, training and administrative activities related to the NJ Population Health Cohort Study, a $10 million study funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.The study, which aims to enroll an estimated 8,000 residents ages 14 and above, was launched in 2022 to improve understanding of how life events and stress affect health, particularly within historically disadvantaged groups, multigenerational families, and immigrant groups. The overarching goal of the Cohort Study is to offer practical, actionable information for improving population health, well-being and health equity in New Jersey and beyond.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Oversees design, implementation, and training for biomarker data collection field staff, including recruitment and safety of research assistants and participants.
  • Responsible for the management and compliance of all executed vendor contracts to support the various components of the study's data collection including biomarker, biomarker analysis and interview data.
  • Works with program coordinator to create timely, easy to understand monitoring tools to track participant cooperation.
  • Develops reports to monitor data collection quality, including the administration of informed consent to study participants.
  • Designs high performing and efficient workflows among study partners and vendors to maximize study participation.
  • Develops and manages a detailed project workplan with focus on safety operations and biomarker data components.
  • Participates on the project's leadership team, working closely with the study Principal Investigator and other faculty co-investigators.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in addition to 5 years of experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to successfully work with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Experience leading a culturally diverse team.
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to develop and manage a multi-component, complex project plan.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience conducting research interviews will be viewed favorably by the search committee.
  • Experience working with immigrant groups and proficiency in languages spoken by major NJ immigrant groups will be viewed favorably by the search committee.
  • Project management certification will be viewed favorably by the search committee.
  • Experience working on clinical research projects will be viewed favorably by the search committee.
