Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Analyst for the Institute of Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The Research Analyst is an important member of the data analytic team, providing highly technical data management and analytic support for ongoing studies. The Research Analyst position provides opportunities to work in a collegial work environment to support various innovative and multidisciplinary studies through the preparation and conduct of research using large databases and survey data. The Research Analyst has experience and competence in using statistical software to manage and analyze large datasets and survey data and producing data summaries, tables, and figures.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Contributes to scientific writing, including statistical analysis plans, scientific reports, and drafting of methods and results for abstracts and manuscripts.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general research principles and practices.
  • Also requires a minimum of five years of relevant research experience working with data, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A master's degree is a related scientic eld is preferred.
  • Experience in management and analysis of healthcare claims or electronic health records data for health services research or pharmacoepidemiology research is highly desirable.
  • Experience and management of data projects in working with teams of diverse skill sets in a research environment is preferred.
Equipment Utilized
  • Advanced use of statistical and analytic tools in SAS and other analytic software.
  • Microsoft Oce Products.
