Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Assistant for the department of OB/GYN at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.Under the direction of the Genetics Supervisor perform a variety of secretarial services, clinical and administrative support for the Section of Perinatal Genetics. This individual should be familiar with the operations of a prenatal genetics and maternal fetal medicine practice and understand the intricacies of how these two specialties intertwine.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manages calendars for Section of Perinatal Genetics.
  • Arranges meetings, lectures, conferences for genetics supervisor/counselors.
  • Track vacation/sick for genetics supervisor/counselors.
  • Maintain physician mailing list.
  • Maintain supplies for all clinical sites, including offsites.
  • Orders business cards, prescription pads for departments of ObGyn, UroGyn, and MFM.
  • Process Ethics, travel advance/travel expense for counselors.
  • Answer phones for genetics office.
  • Maintain spreadsheet of genetic counseling statistics, and data on all genetics related testing including first trimester screening, non-invasive prenatal testing, invasive procedure tesring and genetic testing labs. This includes triaging data that is generated on patients from RWJ and all offsites including CentraState and Brunswick Hills OBGYN and all other sites.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related discipline, plus one (1) year of related experience in a business office, government agency or university setting required.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
