Job Overview:

Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in the acute care setting. Participates in performance improvement activities and development of programs for the department.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of accredited program in Physical Therapy at the baccalaureate or post baccalaureate level and licensed/registered by the State New Jersey.

• Minimum of three years experience in Physical Therapy.

Preferred:

• Active membership in a professional organization is encouraged but not required.

Scheduling Requirements:

• This is a full time, day position, 40 hours/week

• Rotating weekend and holiday availability required

Essential Functions:

• Provides thorough, appropriate care to all patients:

• Complete treatments, designed to meet specific documented goals are implemented using appropriate techniques and modalities.

• Proper body mechanics are used to ensure -the health and safety of both patients and clinician.

• Ensures patient records are accurately and thoroughly maintained according to department policy and procedure

• Communicates frequently with the Director

• Functions as a resource for technical data information in Physical Therapy

• Attends department meetings

• Participates in student/volunteer programs

• Attends continuing education seminars outside of RWJUH and reports to staff regarding content and case relevance

• Attends relevant in-house programs

• Demonstrates the awareness of safety, security, life safety, preparedness and utility and department policies
