Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst I for the Office of Information Technology (OIT).The Business Systems Analyst will report to the Assoc. Director IT of the Enterprise Systems and Integrations team within the OIT-Enterprise Application Services department. The position is responsible for business requirements, gap analysis, documentation, configuration, testing, monitoring, updates, and end-user support for all systems supported by the team. The Business Systems Analyst will also be a liaison between the interface partners and Business Process Owners and perform other related duties as assigned.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Plays a pivotal role in bridging business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring alignment between software/system development and business requirements for successful project delivery.
  • Collects and documents business requirements, performs gap analysis, and build system/process diagrams of current states and future states of supported systems.
  • Communicates findings, recommendations, and solutions in clear and concise ways, using different formats and tools, such as documents, diagrams, presentations, and reports.
  • Manages configuration, performs testing of functionalities, issues fixes and enhancements in the system when it undergoes updates/patching. Identifies and documents work around solutions. Logs service request/ticket with the software provider or for the technical team to improve efficiency and/or for addressing issue/bug identified.
  • Stays relevant and effective in an evolving business landscape. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in technology and considers how they may be used to solve challenges in our department. Also, consults with other senior staff members regarding the implementation and use of the various technologies available within the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an IT organization.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong analytical skills to comprehend and collect business requirements from clients and stakeholders and to reconcile data between the source and target system.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, as well as listening and questioning skills, and ability to adapt to different audiences and situations.
  • Requires advanced Visio, MS Excel skills (including pivots, vlookup, reference, advanced formula and data merge for data analysis and reconciliations).
  • Good problem-solving skills and resourceful.
  • Excellent interpersonal/team skills and negotiation skills.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Customer service mindset, professional courtesy, respect and consistent positive communications to management, team members, vendors, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Oracle Fusion Student Cloud is preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems that integrate with the Oracle Student Management Cloud is preferred - such as SRDB, OSFP, Banner, Salesforce CRM, etc.
