Posting Summary
The position will contribute to multiple streams of research on early childhood care and education policy. You will collaborate with colleagues to conduct literature reviews, rapid policy analyses based on available information, and statistical analyses of administrative, survey, and field studies data. A main responsibility will be to manage and analyze data collected by NIEER and secondary data analysis. The position requires dissemination of research findings through publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, policy briefs, reports to government agencies, and presentations to audiences including include researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and parents. You will be expected to author funding proposals as PI or co-PI as you develop experience. You supervise undergraduate and graduate student research assistants and staff working on the projects for which you are PI or co-PI. These responsibilities will include other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Doctoral degree in education, psychology, economics, sociology, public policy or another field relating to early care and education.
Proven record of excellence in research and capacity for initiating, maintaining, and enhancing research projects
Strong quantitative skills with advanced statistical knowledge, including capacity to perform statistical programming and data analysis of microdata. Experience with commonly used U.S. microdata (e.g. American Community Surveys, Current Population Surveys). Experience with commonly used statistical software such as Stata, R, SAS, SPSS.
Excellent writing and editing skills with experience writing grant applications
Knowledge of early childhood and/or child care policy and implementation
Excellent communication and organization skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Doctoral degree in early childhood education or related eld.
* Signicant experience in key personnel roles in research projects with capacity for initiating, maintaining, and enhancing research in early childhood education.
* Excellent writing and editing skills with experience writing grant applications and budgeting grants.
* Knowledge of pre-k policy and implementation, and of state pre-k, Head Start and child care structures & regulatory requirements with proven expertise in dual language learners and bilingual early education.
* Direct experience providing professional development to coaches and teachers in support of young dual language learners.
* Experience conducting structured classroom observations in bilingual classrooms and administering child assessments with Spanish-speaking children and overseeing eld data collection.
* Excellent communication and organization skills.
Equipment Utilized
Computer fluency including creating and utilizing excel spreadsheets, preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations, conducting zoom meetings and trainings, conducting statistical analyses with R, SPSS and/or Stata.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
* Travel throughout NJ and occasionally to other states to conduct/participate in conferences/meetings/trainings
* Design/conduct/participate in virtual conferences/meetings/trainings as needed
