Insight Global Sr. Field Service Technician in New Berlin, Wisconsin

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking 3 permanent Sr. Field Service Technicians to site remotely with up to 80% travel for our electrification and automation customer. Responsibilities include:

- Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of our clients Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

- Investigate problems and independently initiate effective measures for their solution

- Coordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction

- Participate proactively in contributing feedback regarding product quality issues to reduce warranty costs

- Carry out preparatory work regarding spare parts, testing of tools and equipment and documentation as required

- Submit completed, detailed and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follows up when needed

- Coaches and provides technical guidance to fellow colleagues, departments, and customers

- Communicate effectively and present information to top management, customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization

Skills and Requirements

- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program

- 5+ years of experience in installing, testing, repairing, or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls

- Experience with medium voltage (1000+ volts)

- Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications

- Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule - Bachelors degree in electrical engineering

- Experience with MV Drives

- Knowledge of power electronics, motors, transformers, switch gears and computer network communication protocol and theory of operation null
