Job Title: Mechanical Installation Engineer

Job Description

Duties:

• Design lifting equipment and machinery for installation of cranes and material handling equipment in Solidworks. The qualified candidate will work in a structured 3-D environment where sharing models between engineers is the norm.

• Perform mechanical and structural calculations for custom lifting equipment following applicable standards. Create rigging plans for moving crane components at the work site.

• Must be detail-oriented and able to precisely follow customer specifications and industry codes from many different countries.

• Properly annotate drawings with AWS D1.1 weld symbols, ANSI machining symbols, and other standardized signs to clearly illustrate designs for the customer and our manufacturing facilities. Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) to itemize all the components of the mechanical design.

• Collaborate with other disciplines, including electrical, structural, civil, and installation crews, to facilitate turn-key projects.

• Interpret legacy crane drawings and facility drawings for planning the upgrades of existing equipment (modernizations).

• Provide phone support and technical assistance when requested by our installation crew or customers. Develop detailed technical specifications and procedures for customer use.

• Assist in the load testing and functional testing of the lifting equipment.

This is a design role that will require travel domestically and internationally to nuclear power plants.
