JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: The Earthwork Superintendent/Foreman manages the daily site activities by ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. The Earthwork Superintendent/Foreman directly manages the lead personnel and staff on each project site. A Day in the Life at Veit Daily Operations: Communicate with General Superintendents and job site crews to ensure workforce, equipment needs, and project timelines are met. Maintain daily logs, equipment and material schedules, and timecards. Subcontractor Management: Schedule and monitor subcontractors to ensure work aligns with agreements and project quality standards. Safety and Compliance: Identify workplace hazards, enforce safety procedures, conduct Job Hazard Awareness meetings, and ensure staff follow company policies and legal regulations. Provide timely documentation for safety issues, equipment damage, and workplace injuries. Personnel Management: Manage and address staff performance, provide training opportunities, and uphold fair treatment according to company policies and legal requirements. Quality Assurance: Inspect field work and materials for quality compliance / ensure all work meets specified standards. Project Coordination: Participate in pre-construction and job site meetings to discuss project planning and execution. Continuous Improvement: Regularly engage in training for construction methods and safety. Support staff training initiatives. Reporting: Keep supervisors informed of any actions or information that could impact project success or company operations. Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by management. What You\'ll Need * Two to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * OSHA 10 hour (preferred but not required), OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid. * Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, construction plans, construction specifications, and legal documents. * Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad and iPhone. * Ability to communicate and schedule project needs appropriately. * Ability to effectively communicate both oral and written with employees, clients, and other business associates. Must clearly communicate directions and information. Must possess the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must have good interpersonal skill and be able to speak effectively before groups as well as individuals. * Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
