Description

MSPCC, a division of Eliot u tilizes a network of counselors and liaisons, who help foster parents understand and manage the needs of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Learn more about Foster and Adoption Services.

We are seeking part time Family Resource Liaison, c andidates with less than two years of foster parenting experience can be considered at the recommendation of the candidate’s DCF family resource social worker/family resource supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist DCF with the critical task of supporting and retaining foster, pre-adoptive and kinship parents.

  • Serve as a support and resource to foster parents by information sharing and assisting with problem solving issues including but not limited to barriers accessing/learning about resources and services, questions regarding DCF policies and procedures and Kid’s Net services.

  • Provide support and information in situations such as allegations of abuse or neglect; to be available if a 51-A is filed; and to help them through the process and with any additional referrals.

  • Assist foster, pre-adoptive and kinship parents in the identification and resolution of problems that arise in their partnership with DCF.

  • In additional to New Staff Training, FRLs will participate in group facilitation training as well as other pertinent training topics as identified by a Regional Director or the Director of Adoption & Foster Care Services.

  • Regular phone/e-mail communication with Regional Kid’s Net Director and any urgent issues brought to Regional Director’s attention in a timely manner.

  • Participate in at least 10 of 12 scheduled monthly regional FRL meetings

  • Collaborate with Regional Kid’s Net Director and DCF Area Office Staff to identify training topics and trainers for Kid’s Net Training Calendar.

  • Collaborate with Regional Kid’s Net Director and DCF Area Office Staff to identify a support group schedule for area office families and either facilitate said support group or participate in/support DCF staff facilitators.
