job summary:
An MEP Commissioning Manager for a leading General Contractor to oversee the commissioning process for complex construction projects. The MEP Commissioning Manager will ensure that mechanical, electrical, and special systems are properly installed, tested, and functional according to project requirements. This role involves supervising trade contractors, managing schedules, budgets, and documentation, and coordinating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle-from pre-construction to close-out.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong focus on large-scale mechanical and electrical systems. Key responsibilities include developing project scopes, managing change orders and RFIs, and tracking project costs. Experience in controls/power monitoring, RFIs, submittals, testing, and graphic review is crucial, as is leading the commissioning process with ownership of schedules, issue tracking, and communication.
This is a 10-12 month contract opportunity with potential monthly living expenses for non-local candidates.

responsibilities:
Lead the commissioning process for mechanical, electrical, and special systems from pre-construction through project close-out
Coordinate and manage power monitoring, controls systems, RFIs, submittals, and testing procedures
Develop and oversee commissioning schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
Track and resolve issues during commissioning and report progress to stakeholders
Supervise and manage trade contractors and vendors for mechanical, electrical, and special systems
Review project documentation and ensure all systems are installed and functioning as per design specifications
Facilitate communication between clients, engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure project readiness
Conduct checklist reviews and ensure systems meet all operational and safety standards
Manage change orders, RFIs, and other project-related documentation during the commissioning phase
Oversee budget tracking and reporting during the commissioning process
