The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

The Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is recruiting to fill a Management Analyst 1 position in Carson City. The incumbent tracks and monitors expenditures, maintains budget projections, monitors performance indicators, tracks legislation, reviews reimbursement requests, periodically reviews accounting documents for accuracy and internal control compliance, and maintains division policies and procedures including annual Internal Controls update. Additionally, the incumbent functions as agency contract manager and also assists the Accountant Technician III with federal financial draws and the ASO I with biennial budget development, creation of work programs, coordination of financial audits, annual single audit reports, and fiscal year end. Supervision of the Administrative Assistant II in purchasing is also required. Activation as a member of the Emergency Operations Center may be necessary in the event of a major emergency. This may serve to disrupt/alter/revise or totally change all previously established work performance standards, requiring 100% of the time, until the emergency is over. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and one year of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR two years of experience as an Accountant Technician I or Tax Examiner II in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as an Accountant Technician II or Fiscal/Business Professional Trainee III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Requirements

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
