The Position
Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position's primary duty is maintenance repairs for NDOT such as plumbing, carpentry, building maintenance repairs and inspections. This includes 8 outlying maintenance stations, 18 employee housing units, IR-80 tunnels, overhead/interchange lighting, intelligent transportation devices, and 5 rest areas. This is a 3-man crew. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Notes
This position requires an applicant be at least 18 years of age upon application. If selected, proof of being at least 18 years of age will be required. This position is subject to standby and call back status.Special Requirements
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position may require flexible/rotating shifts.The Examination
