What the day will look like

  • Manage a team of highly engaged broking professionals at varying levels of expertise and experience in delivering Aon’s services.

  • People leadership responsibilities, including providing support, mentoring, coaching and development with your team and cyclical activities.

  • Commercial and financial leadership and accountability including P&L management and driving business results for your branch.

  • Be a driver of our Internal Culture – including encouraging an environment of collaboration, diversity, and capability uplift.

  • Play a key role in the strategy for new business opportunities and development within your local area.

  • Take a leading role in leading any key clients within your local area.

  • Work in partnership with our other business areas, and being an ambassador for Aon and our services, driving and growing opportunities within our existing client base.

  • Working closely with our Retail Leadership team in delivery our Retail Distribution strategy and goals.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Proven leadership experience, ideally coming from within an Insurance Broking role, otherwise experience within the Insurance industry or Financial Services sector in a retail environment.

  • This role requires that you will hold a New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – General Insurance.

  • Experience in leading a team and handling all aspects and responsibilities related to people leadership.

  • Proven client engagement skills, an effective communicator, an advocate, and confident in your ability to negotiate good outcomes.

  • The ability to drive culture including – collaboration, diversity, capability, and compliance in a regulated environment.

  • A high degree of commercial competence and proficient business planning capabilities and the ability to be effective at both an operational and strategic level.
