Position Summary/Description:

The UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to be a subject matter expert collaborator with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. This is a full-time position. The rank will be based on the qualifications of the applicants.

Duties include: analyze and/or develop existing or proposed systems, strategies, services; provide subject matter expertise on Medicaid policies and clinical definitions; contribute to the development and implementation of mental health related policies and initiatives that enhance access to care and the quality of mental health services for Medicaid beneficiaries; and as need additional duties relating to child psychiatry that are under the purview of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Additional duties may include clinical care of patients, and teaching/supervising fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees from a variety of disciplines.

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge of Medicaid policy and experience in working within state governmental agencies. The candidate should have clinical experience working with children and adolescent patients. Triple Board certification in General Pediatrics, General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry certified preferred, with ability to apply expertise to whole child health related policy.
