Naval Facilities Engineering Command ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATING SUPERVISOR in Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington
Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATING SUPERVISOR in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND INTERGRATED SOLID WASTE DIVISION of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will plan work schedules. You make recommendations on personnel actions, changes in procedures, new types of equipment, cost cutting, the need to replace equipment and similar matters. You will schedule and approve leave. You will make recommendations regarding the need for additional manpower, delays in schedules, non-availability of critical equipment or specific material, training needs, etc. You will assign work to subordinates. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Must possess and maintain a Washington State Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). An out of state Class "A" Commercial Driver's License is acceptable however the incumbent must have it transferred to a Washington State License within 30 days of hire. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Delegating workload to crew and ensuring compliance with solid waste policies and regulations; 2) Acting as a backup driver/operator and material handler; 3) Enforcing rules and regulations on conduct, safety, and housekeeping; and 4) Inspecting work in progress and at completion. To ensure employee safety and health, the incumbent will be required to participate in personnel protection programs consistent with applicable laws and regulations. These programs may include engineering controls, training, work procedures, use of personnel protective equipment and medical surveillance. The incumbent may be required to work overtime; call back and unscheduled work are regular equirements of this position. Such emergencies may include recovery from natural or man-made disasters. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
