You don't need to be active duty military to serve your country! Responsibilities You will review and screen Material Request Forms and Purchase Request forms for accuracy. You will review requests for compliance with safety and environmental regulations regarding the Hazardous Material management Program and Authorized User List. You will requisition supplies, material and equipment in compliance to all applicable supply policies and regulations. You will track and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the status of all requisitions. You will resolve all discrepancies with material orders. You will process documentation for stock item receipts, issue material to shop or work center personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using automated systems for preparation and submission of purchase requirements; 2) Reviewing and screening material and purchase requests for accuracy, funds approval, special requirements, and item description; 3) Tracking and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the status of all requisitions and purchases. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD/Modified Direct Hire Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment or Relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Must be able to successfully complete the following training courses within prescribed timeframe: Forklift Training, OSHA Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response, and Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This position performs functions that are necessary to ensure the continued operations at all times. May be asked to work overtime. A 40-hour work week is typical for this position. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Moderate physical exertion such as recurring walking, standing, bending, lifting, and moving items up to 40 pounds, unassisted, using proper lifting techniques in the warehouse will be required. Heavier items are moved using material handling equipment or assistance from other employees.
