EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

REPORTS TO:                      

Public Works Director

SALARY:                                $ 13.50 an hour 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:  

Semi-skilled manual labor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Tasks involve driving maintenance vehicles
• Repairing and constructing streets, buildings, and other structures
• Demolition, landscaping, loading and unloading materials
• Welding     
• Other duties of similar nature as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School or GED equivalent

Licensing and Certifications

• Commercial Driver's License (A or B)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• Welding experience
• Ability to understand oral instructions
• Ability to lift heavy articles
• Knowledge of construction equipment and tools
• Withstand varying climate conditions
• Be in good physical condition
• Must pass drug screening and background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to stand for extended periods
2. Ability to lift, carry, and put away parcels weighing up to 25 or more pounds
3. Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job taking distance and speed into account
